Davide Rigamonti

I am a postdoctoral fellow at the ISTP-CNR working on nuclear diagnostics for thermonuclear fusion plasmas. My research activity is mainly focused on the development, characterization and exploitation of neutron and gamma-ray detectors for the most of the tokamaks in Europe and in the world. To be noted is the activity done at the Joint European Torus (JET) which is the only tokamak in the world able to operate with a fuel mixture of deuterium-tritium (DT). Since 2018 until the end of 2021, I covered the position of Neutron Diagnostics Expert at JET, taking care of the neutron diagnostics based on diamond and silicon detectors and of the gamma-ray diagnostics. The latter are the gamma-ray camera and the LaBr3 scintillators-based detectors installed along the vertical and tangential line of sights. During the 2021 I had the unique opportunity to work hands-on at JET as Responsible Diagnostics Expert for the DT2 campaign and, before, I’ve been involved in the preparation activities for the DT campaign in particular in the JET 14MeV neutron calibration campaign.
