Pierpaolo Minelli
Since 2008 researcher at the Institute for Plasma Science and Technology (ISTP) of the National Research Council (CNR) and since 2015 associated with the National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN).
He works on non-equilibrium dynamics and kinetics of rarefied gases and electric discharges in gases using particle numerical models such as Particle in Cell (PIC) and Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC).
His research activity is focused on the optimization, parallelization (OpenMP/MPI), development and execution of the above numerical models in HPC (High Performance Computing), using different infrastructures such as the CINECA consortium or the ReCaS computing network.
As part of his work he is also responsible for the installation and management of a cluster of local servers in Linux for all users of the Institute, as well as carrying out the task of IT Referent of the Institute ISTP for the headquarters of Bari.
