Anna Cremona

Physics degree in the field of Physics of Matter at the University of Pavia, carrying out an experimental thesis about the study of crystal defects by Photoluminescence and Thermoluminescence techniques. She began her research activity at theCNR Institute for Plasma Physics (IFP), at present ISTP, dealing with plasma-materials interaction. She devoted herself to the deposition of thin films by plasma processes and their characterization by Atomic Force Microscopy, Prophylometry, FT-IR Spectroscopy, UV-VIS-NIR Spectrophotometry.
She she expanded her knowledge to the field of the interaction between plasma and materials of interest for the Magnetically Confined Thermonuclear Fusion. She developed expertise in the study of the UV-VIS radiation emetted by plasma using Optical Emission Spectroscopy. She has been developing spectroscopic methods to determine electron density and temperature in low pressure plasmas. Within the EUROfusion research programme she has been carrying out research activities aimed to study the erosion of metals (W, Sn) in magnetically confined linear plasma devices for fusion applications.
